Divorce rates have seen a spike during the pandemic.
Attorney Ricardo Barrera was interviewed by Channel 4 Valley Central News about the rising divorce rate and the factors that could be contributing to it.
“Between the shelter in place, between the financial difficulties people have had, people between furloughed and unemployed, the result has been more family conflict.
“I’ve seen conflict regarding how you divide the stimulus money. What would be the best expenditure of the government benefits? Which parent or which partner is contributing to the household more?”
Attorney Ricardo Barrera says he has also seen younger couples filing for divorce and discusses the stresses on those younger couples.
